Image to Video

Use the Image to Video preset in Crit Space to animate between a start frame and an end frame, like a season change or a lighting shift, from one short prompt.

The start frame is the first thing that plays and the end frame is where the video finishes, so you only need to describe what happens in between.

Start from the preset

Open Crit Space, choose Image to Video from the preset picker and click Use preset.

How the preset works

  • Start Frame - where your video starts
  • End Frame - where your video ends
  • Video Generator - your prompt and video settings
  • Result - the finished video, which plays on the canvas

Choose your frames

We used the same timber house twice: a dusk render as the start frame and a snow-covered version as the end frame.

Before
After

The end frame is optional, so you can run it from a start frame alone. Giving it both works really well, because the video knows exactly where to finish.

Write the prompt

Keep the prompt short and describe the change between the two frames, such as a new lighting condition or a time lapse. For this example we used:

"Heavy snowfall settles over timelapse."

  • Model - MiniMax H3 Max Turbo
  • Camera movement - Static
  • Duration - 10s
  • Aspect ratio - 16:9

Play the result

Click generate, then press play on the Result node. In this example the snow starts to fall, builds up over the scene and settles into the end frame.

Next steps

  • Try other changes, such as day to night, by swapping the end frame and the prompt.
  • Get extra shots of the same design with Multi Shot, then animate them into short clips.
  • See how clips fit into a full project in Prompt to Presentation.
