The infinite canvas we opened to a small group in September is now on for every Fenestra account, on every plan.

Crit Space is now on for every Fenestra account. Open a project, choose Crit Space instead of Studio, and the whole project lives on one board: renders, variations, camera angles, video, 3D models and the notes your team leaves on them.

We opened it to a small group in September. Thank you to everyone who joined the waitlist and sent feedback. A lot of what's in this release came from those boards.

What is Crit Space?

Fenestra now has two spaces. Studio is where you create, one render at a time. Crit Space is an infinite canvas where you lay out, compare and review the work, on your own or with the people you work with.

It's named after the studio crit, where you pin the work up, stand back and talk about it. For a step-by-step on using it for client work, see how to make an architecture presentation board with AI.

How does Crit Space work?

Everything on the board is a node. Right-click anywhere to add one, or drop an image, video or 3D model straight onto the canvas. Connect nodes together and every result stays linked to the prompt and inputs that made it, so you can branch a variation from any image without losing the original.

You don't have to start from a blank board. A new board opens with presets, ready-made setups with sample inputs you can swap for your own: 3D to Render, Facade Material, Image to Video, Multi Shot, Enhance and Prompt to Presentation.

What can you make in Crit Space?

Turn a 3D model into a render

Drag a .3DM, .FBX or .GLB file onto the canvas, orbit to the view you want, set the sun and time of day, and plug that view into an Image Generator.

Swap a facade material

Give the generator your render, a material swatch and one line saying what to replace and what to keep.

Get nine camera angles from one render

Multi Shot turns a single image into a 3×3 set of new shots: close-ups, macro details, aerial views and lighting changes, all from one generation. Add a short list of details you want to see and it spreads them across the nine.

Animate between two frames

Give a Video Generator a start frame and an end frame, describe the change in a few words, and it animates everything in between. Season changes, day to night and time lapses all work well.

Take a project from prompt to presentation

The video at the top of this post runs the whole loop on one board: a text prompt, two concepts, an evening version, a timelapse between them, nine detail shots, a section of favourites and a few clips of B-roll.

How do teams use Crit Space?

Click Share on any board to bring people in. Invite viewers to follow along, or invite editors to work on the board with you. The board shows up under Shared with you in their projects. On a shared board you can leave sticky notes, draw over a render to mark what should change, and group the strongest options into sections.

You can also create a public link, so a client can see where the project is without being able to change anything. This is one of those links, embedded. Move around it the way a client would.

Who can use Crit Space?

Everyone. Crit Space is on for every Fenestra account, on every plan, including the free plan.

You can invite viewers and create public links on any plan. To invite editors who work on the board with you, the board owner needs to be on Pro or above.

Renders and videos you make on the board use your credits the same way they do in Studio. When you invite someone to a board, anything they generate uses their own credits. Studio carries on exactly as it is, and you can switch between the two at any time.

How do I get started?

  1. Open Fenestra and create a new project.
  2. Choose Crit Space when it asks where you'd like to work.
  3. Pick a preset, or close the picker and right-click to add your first node.

The Crit Space documentation covers the canvas basics and has a guide for each preset.
